We are delighted to announce that Derby College Group (DCG), lead institution for the East Midlands Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC), has been shortlisted for two prestigious Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) Training Awards.

The nominations recognise the outstanding contribution being made to construction training and the development of the next generation of skilled professionals.

The two shortlisted categories are:

• Training Champion: Scott Millar, Derby College
• Training Provider / College of the Year: Derby College Group

The FIS Training Awards celebrate excellence and achievement across plastering and interior trades, recognising the contribution of apprentices, students, colleges, training providers and the people who support and champion sector training.

Scott’s nomination as Training Champion recognises his commitment to supporting learners and helping develop the skills needed by the construction industry. The Training Provider / College of the Year nomination also highlights the wider work of the DCG construction team in delivering high-quality training and supporting the future construction workforce.

This recognition is particularly significant for East Midlands CTEC Hub Derby College Group, reflecting our commitment to working with industry and education partners to strengthen construction skills across the region.
